Texas has the second largest concentration of game companies in the U.S., with more than 155 development and publishing companies throughout the state providing around 4,000 full-time jobs.
What we offer:
The Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program offers production incentives for qualifying video game projects. Game developers are also eligible to receive sales tax exemptions on many of the goods and services used to produce games. Texas has one of the lowest tax burdens for businesses and has no state income tax. Please review the Incentives Overview page at ww.texasfilmcommission.com for more information.
Clusters of Talent
Companies have migrated to cities such as Austin, Dallas, San Antonio and Houston because of their large collection of talented artists, programmers, designers and visionaries. New talent from Texas universities and colleges, as well as those from other industries, such as film and music, has helped the game community grow.
